Description: From Bits and Pieces Part 1. Compilation of films and raw footage from the period 1927-1939. My Hans: amateur filmmaker Dick Laan and his jackdaw, Hans. Horse polo: a horse polo match in the Olympic Stadium in Amsterdam. Young anglers: boys in shorts, some wearing ties, fishing with a fishing rod. A boy baits his hook and slides the bamboo sections of his rod together. Some footage from the film of the Hoog-Blaricum children's sanatorium in Laren in 1930: a nurse; boys and girls in beds in the ward and outdoors, children being washed, doctors examining patients, children sunbathing. The outdoor school: boys and girls set up chairs and tables on the terrace and receive lessons. The kitchen: staff serving food from large pots onto plates, children at the table and in bed during meals. A girl being fed.
