Description: The Askegaard family, by Hans Askegaard and his son, Søren Askegaard, both of Odense, Denmark, have made this historical film from Klintebjerg Orphanage. Hans Askegaard's parents, Lisel and Erik Askegaard, took office as the headmaster of Klintebjerg Orphanage on January 1, 1937. At that time, Hans Askegaard, who was born in 1929, was eight years old. The film was filmed by Hans Askegaard and his brother Klaus Askegaard in the years 1957-59 at and around Klintebjerg Orphanage, and there is also footage from the orphanage's summer excursion to the North Sea. The film is commented on by Hans Askegaard and Søren Askegaard along the way. A big and heartfelt thank you to the Askegaard family for making this film available to us, and thus to the general public.

Description: "The only thing I always remember from my childhood was the never ending physical cruelty and every single day drunken mother. And also how she touched me, when I was bathing. It was the worst period of my life ever, and everything coming after that was actually only better," this has been said today by thirty years old Filip Zahradil, who was released from prison in February 2009 after serving a ten year sentence. He actually killed his mother during a fight with her when he was 18 years old. Was it murder, self-defense or just a brute attack? Was a 10 year sentence behind bars rightful punishment for a man who suffered so much through his entire childhood? This documentary is Filip's personal testament about how much could be a person psychologically scared by unhappy childhood and murder of his own mother that followed all that. After his release Filip tried to find a happy relationship and get on with his life, find a decent job and normal living. But it is impossible to forget his past. It does not forget him and memories are still coming back to haunt him.
