Description: This film shows the relief aid provided to victims of drought in the Sahel. In response to an appeal from the League of Red Cross Societies, thousands of tons of food was shipped to Liberia and then on to Upper Volta (Burkina Faso) by plane. The League obtained protein-enriched flour from a company in Liberia. At Goroum-Goroum, 300 kilometres north of Ouagadougou, the Upper Volta Red Cross unloaded the relief supplies from the plane and distributed them to Touareg nomads.

Description: In 1952, the largest polio epidemic hit Denmark, with Copenhagen in particular being particularly hard hit. Polio mostly affected children and young people, and most were admitted to Blegdamshospitalet in Copenhagen, which treated around 3,000 patients with an average age of 11 years between 24 July and 31 December 1952. 866 patients had paralysis of the arms or legs, and 316 had paralysis of the respiratory muscles and were therefore unable to breathe on their own. Some of them were fitted with an 'iron lung' - what we today call a respirator. Others had a tracheotomy - a hole in the throat leading directly into the windpipe. The film shows a number of technical aids for respiration and the procedure itself is demonstrated.
During the polio epidemic in 1952, Blegdamshospitalet became world-famous for introducing ventilator treatment to combat respiratory paralysis.

The purpose of this film is to explain and thereby de-dramatize some of the situations that arise when children come to the hospital. The film gives a brief description of the emergency room, which is often children's first encounter with the hospital. Then, Henrik, aged five, is followed - he is admitted to the hospital for an inguinal hernia. He is followed through the hospital's everyday life, examinations, surgery and finally discharge. The film also shows other children being examined and treated. The film can be used in kindergartens and the first grades of school.

Filled with hot grease: a barrel is filled and rolled to a boat, a fully loaded boat sails. A sprinkler keeps the barrel cool: a boat with a sprinkler and wet barrels. A view of a gallery from Dr. Rollier in Leysin, Switzerland, 19..: children in rows of beds in the sun. A stretch bandage: a boy in a bed with a leg in a splint. Ice hockey rink in Haarlem, 19..: men's ice hockey game with an audience. A jump over 10 boys: a man dives over a row of ten boys after a jump from a springboard, landing on a cushion. Bleeding from the ulnar artery (high sling): applying a bandage and sling to a man. The large companies have apprenticeship schools, where the young people receive a thorough education before they enter production fully qualified in the last year of their apprenticeship. Many professions have apprentice preschools, from which the masters receive students who, even before they become apprentices, know the most elementary things in the profession they are entering. The perspective is given to Asia and India, where millions of people live on the hunger line. Giant open-air schools are established, where adult natives struggle to learn to read.
