Thus, pieces of bread and baked goods—usable or spoiled—are carelessly and recklessly discarded in garbage cans and classrooms. A lack of bread leads to hunger and malnutrition, unrest and discontent. Many hands reach out toward the bread as an urgent plea to those who are well-fed and prosperous to help the hungry.
